Another completely useful application has popped up on my radar screen; Sogudi by Kitzel Hoover.
This application lets you define ‘short form’ strings that you can type into the address bar of Safari and it will re-write them before loading the page. An excellent (and useful) example of this is a quick method for loading bug pages at the office. I have a rule in Sogudi that expands all strings of the form “bug NNN” to “http://bugzilla.example.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=NNN”. Presto, instant bug reports! Other useful links could be to auto-load a particular RFC just by entering “rfc XXXX”. Where XXXX is the RFC number you are interestsed in.
Wait, it gets better, there is a Quicksilver plugin (link) that lets you invoke the Sogudi actions from QS. No more switching to Safari first. Now you can launch these directly from your QS invokation. Nice. Thanks to Joe for pointing me at the Sogudi QS plugin in this blog entry about QS, Sogudi and Instiki.
