Well, it has been a few days since my last blog… with good reason. I am not even sure that I remember what happened a couple of days ago now because last night overshadows everything that may have happened before. Tonight I caught my first baby. I held back an anterior lip during a contraction, supported the perineum, dealt with a nuchal cord and helped dad catch his baby!!! You know what??? It all felt just right.. It was exactly what I needed to be doing and exactly where I needed to be. What would I do the same? I… (more…)
Well… Saturday was a slow one… we had a few citas and then we had 2 labor checks at the end of the day. I stayed on to help again, beyond my shift, and I am so glad that I did. I ended up being second at one of the birth…. and boy did they give birth quickly!! Someone had… (more…)
Yesterday I got to the clinic refreshed and ready to go… They had 2 ladies in early labor. One had been told by the hospital in Mexico that the amniotic fluid had dropped and that she needed a c-section. Well, she checked herself out of the hospital and came to us. Well, the day started out with a woman in labor… not long thereafter she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl… And we went about the day doing citas. A lady came in for a labor check, to see how dilated she was and to see if she was really in labor. I did the labor check and went through… (more…)

Well, another great day. We had two babies last night, they were _quick_!! Each mama had had 2 babies previously and they knew exactly what they were doing. It was lovely to see. Holy cow!!!! 3 babies last night. I think that I got about 5 hrs sleep over the course of 9 hours. These women did amazing jobs!!! And such beautiful little babies.
