H1N1 – How to tell the difference

We have a confirmed case of H1N1 on our block and a few others who were also very ill but were not confirmed (apparently it costs too much to test whether or not you actually have it – so much for accurate stats). So, we are being very cautious and I have been doing everything I know to stay healthy.… (more…)

Cascade – Doppler

I am very frustrated with Cascade. http://www.1cascade.com/ I ordered a doppler on September 17th. October 1st I got an email saying that the wrong doppler had been sent to me and to please return it and I would get my doppler sent out promptly. On October 9th I checked my mail box and still nothing (right or wrong order) Flew… (more…)

American 1$ coin

Hubby and I have been purging things from our home. I highly recommend this – it makes the home neater and adds some lightness to the home as well. I love it. Now… if only I can get my hubby to stop buying electronics and bags! But this post is actually about the 1$ coin. As I was cleaning out… (more…)

Deep Thoughts

Well, I think that I need to do some processing and need to be painfully honest with myself… Do I want to have kids? My husband has made it very clear that he does. When we first got married, I was ready mentally, he was not. We were 27 and 30. That seemed like a good age to begin a… (more…)

Oops – Pingback

Well… someone actually read this blog thing… . I edited my post from the other day and somehow I did a thing called a ‘pingback’ and the other person could see that I had written about her post. That was completely unintentional. I am not sure how I did that and I am going to have to ask hubby to… (more…)

Changed Page

My hubby made some changes to this page and now it no longer looks quite as pretty as it did before. I am hoping that nothing else was lost… I will look around and see. I have been lolling about at home these past couple of days. I am fighting something and tired. I wake up early but then find… (more…)

Ani diFranco Tonight!

Tonight Alan and I went off to the Rio and took in a concert. I wasn’t feeling great (feeling like I have been fighting something off for the past week or so) but I really enjoyed it. I loved the old stuff that I still listen to regularly and even some of the new stuff. She seems to have mellowed… (more…)

It takes a village to raise a child…

I read a post this morning in a blog that I follow. The woman described a scene where someone spoke harshly to her child at the park and she chose to pack up and leave. Afterwards she realized the silliness of her response but when I read the 10 or so comments it was clear that the majority of people… (more…)

Studying…

In 3 days I will be sitting down to a 6 hour exam, broken into 2 1/2 sections, morning and afternoon. I don’t know how I will do, I don’t know if I am prepared enough, I don’t know… But off I go. What does it mean if I fail? I mean… really, what does it mean? All it simply… (more…)

…And back again

Here I am two years later and much has happened in the mean time. I won’t go back to update totally but I will make references to what has been along with some explanation. I am back in Calgary again… but not really. In the past 2 years, I have moved to Santa Cruz, travelled back and forth to Casa,… (more…)
